ProductRex Connector

Connect Paradino to ProductRex so Athena can help with investment research, product and platform comparisons, asset allocation analysis, and scenario modelling during advice preparation.

The ProductRex Connector helps you bring ProductRex research into Paradino's advice workflow. Once connected, Athena can create ProductRex scenarios, retrieve scenario output, and use ProductRex information in SoA and RoA workflows.

What you can do

  • Create ProductRex scenarios. Ask Athena to create a scenario using information already available in the client file.
  • Compare products and platforms. Use ProductRex to support investment research, product comparisons, platform comparisons, portfolio comparisons, and asset allocation analysis.
  • Use ProductRex output in advice workflows. Athena can use confirmed ProductRex scenario information when preparing advice documents.

Before you start

Before connecting ProductRex, make sure you have:

  • A ProductRex account.
  • A Paradino account using the same email address as your ProductRex account.
  • Relevant client information in Paradino, such as the risk profile, current platform, recommended platform, and any supporting documents you want Athena to use.

How to connect ProductRex

You start in ProductRex and finish in Paradino.

  1. In ProductRex, open Account Settings.
  2. Go to Manage Integrations.
  3. Add Paradino.
  4. Click Save.
  5. In Paradino, open Connectors from the left-hand side bar.
  6. Locate the ProductRex Connector.
  7. Click Connect.

Once connected, ProductRex will be available in Paradino for the supported Athena workflows.

Using ProductRex in Strategy Assist and Workspace

Once ProductRex is connected, you can generate ProductRex scenarios from the client workspace, SoA, and RoA workflows. ProductRex is available to Athena when your request is about investment research, product research, platform research, portfolio comparison, asset allocation analysis, or scenario modelling.

If Athena creates a ProductRex scenario and ProductRex returns a client link, Paradino saves that link against the client so future ProductRex work can use it automatically. You do not need to manually search ProductRex for the client first.

For example, you can ask:

Create an investment research scenario for this client using the latest fact find and file note.

Or:

Compare the current portfolio and recommended portfolio in investment research and summarise the asset allocation changes.

Athena can use information already available in Paradino, including meeting summaries, advice documents, and files in the client and practice Knowledge Base. If required information is missing, Athena will ask for it before creating or updating a scenario.

For scenario work, it helps to have:

  • The client's risk profile.
  • Current platform and investment details, where relevant.
  • Recommended platform and investment details, where relevant.
  • A total portfolio or platform amount if you want Athena to work from percentages or model weights.

Best practices

To get the best result from the ProductRex Connector:

  • Link Paradino in ProductRex before clicking Connect in Paradino.
  • Make sure your Paradino and ProductRex email addresses match.
  • Keep the client's Knowledge Base up to date before asking Athena to create a scenario.
  • Provide the risk profile, current platform, recommended platform, investment names, and dollar amounts where possible.
  • Include APIR, ASX, SMA, or CASHACC codes when you have them.
  • Review ProductRex scenario data before relying on it in advice documents.
  • Treat Athena's output as workflow support, not a replacement for adviser review.

Troubleshooting

ProductRex connection could not be verified

In ProductRex, open Account Settings > Manage Integrations, add Paradino, click Save, and then try connecting again in Paradino. Also check that your Paradino and ProductRex accounts use the same email address.

ProductRex is not appearing in Strategy Assist

Check that the ProductRex Connector is connected in Connectors. If it is not connected, confirm that Paradino has been added in ProductRex Manage Integrations and that your ProductRex email matches your Paradino email. ProductRex is only available for relevant investment research and scenario modelling requests.

Athena asks before using a custom investment name

ProductRex works best when investments can be matched using recognised codes such as APIR, ASX, SMA, or CASHACC. If Athena only has a custom investment name, Athena may ask you to confirm before continuing because ProductRex may not attach the same fee or asset allocation data.

ProductRex data is missing from my SoA/RoA

Confirm that you asked Athena to include the investment research scenario in the SoA workflow and selected the exact scenario to use. If more than one scenario is available, Athena may ask you which one to rely on.

I want to disconnect ProductRex

Click Disconnect on the ProductRex card in Paradino. If you also want to remove Paradino's access from ProductRex, open Account Settings > Manage Integrations in ProductRex and remove or deselect Paradino.
